Get a Real Indonesian SIM Card
Delivered to Your Hotel
Book motorbike taxis, order food delivery, pay cashless at markets, and call your villa or tour guide. Everything in Bali is easier with a local +62 number.
Who this Bali SIM card is for
GetBaliSIM gives you a real local Indonesian number on the Telkomsel network. That's a different product from international travel eSIMs — and it matters for how you'll use your phone in Bali.
Gojek & GoCar
Bali's most popular ride-hailing app — motorbike taxis (ojek) and cars, all cheaper than metered taxis. Registration requires an Indonesian +62 number for SMS OTP. Foreign numbers are known to fail — the verification code never arrives.
GoFood & GrabFood
Food delivery apps that bring meals from hundreds of Bali restaurants to your villa or hotel. Both platforms use your local number to confirm orders and let couriers contact you directly.
Grab & GrabCar
Alternative to Gojek — cars, bikes, and deliveries across Bali. SMS OTP works far more reliably with a local number, and drivers call your registered number when they arrive.
OVO
Indonesia's most widely accepted e-wallet — tap to pay at restaurants, markets, and shops across Bali. Only accepts Indonesian phone numbers for registration, no exceptions.
DANA & GoPay
Popular QRIS e-wallets used everywhere in Bali for cashless payments. Both require SMS OTP verification during sign-up, which only works reliably with a local +62 number.
Calling locals
Bali villas, tour guides, clinics, and restaurants all use 08xx local numbers. Calling them from a local number is cheaper, more direct, and doesn't depend on internet quality.
Also useful: Emergency services (dial 112) work on a local SIM without depending on international roaming. Any Indonesian app that sends SMS verification — booking confirmations, clinic appointments, local banking — works with your +62 number.
This is NOT for you if…
You just need mobile data
If you won't use Gojek, Grab, or OVO, an international eSIM from Airalo or Klook is a better fit — instant setup, no documents. We'd rather you have the right tool than buy from us and be frustrated.
You want to be online the moment you land
We deliver to your hotel or villa — not the airport. If stepping off the plane already connected matters to you, our eSIM is the better fit: install it before you leave home, active the moment you land.
Why your passport is required
Because you're getting a real Indonesian phone number, the Ministry of Communication (Permenkominfo) requires it to be registered against a valid passport and device IMEI. This is exactly the same process an Indonesian resident goes through to get a SIM — except we handle the entire submission for you.
Any seller that skips this step is not legally registering your SIM. That means it can be blocked by the carrier at any time after purchase — often without warning.
Same rules as Indonesian residents
Every prepaid SIM in Indonesia — local or tourist — must be registered. There are no exceptions and no workarounds.
We handle the submission
You upload three photos. We submit them to Telkomsel, complete registration, and prepare your SIM for delivery. No store visit needed.
Documents deleted after 7 days
Once your SIM is delivered and active, your passport and IMEI photos are permanently deleted from our storage.
What to bring to the meeting
That's it — no uploads, no forms to fill before we meet. Our staff handles everything on the spot.
Your passport
Our staff reads your details directly from it for Telkomsel registration.
Your phone
The device you'll be using — we insert the SIM and make sure you're connected before we leave.
A few minutes
Registration and activation happen right there. You'll be online before we leave.
How to buy a SIM card in Bali — step by step

Common questions about Bali SIM cards
Which areas do you deliver to?
We deliver for free to hotels and villas in Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, Canggu, Denpasar, Ubud, Sukawati, Dalung, and Tanah Lot. If your area isn't listed, contact us on WhatsApp — we'll do our best to arrange delivery.
Why do you need my passport and IMEI?
Indonesian Ministry of Communication regulations (Permenkominfo) require all SIM cards issued to foreign nationals to be registered with a valid passport and device IMEI. There are no exceptions — this applies to every local carrier. Our staff reads your passport at the meeting and handles the full Telkomsel submission on the spot.
Is this document requirement unique to GetBaliSIM?
No — it's a government requirement. Any legitimate local Indonesian SIM card provider will ask for the same documents. If a seller skips this step, they may not be legally registering your SIM, which can result in it being blocked.
How long does it take from ordering to having the SIM?
After you order we'll reach out on WhatsApp to arrange a meeting time. Registration and activation happen at the meeting — typically same-day or next-day depending on your location and time of order.
Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes. Carrier-locked phones won't accept a foreign SIM. Check with your home carrier before travelling — unlocking is usually free once your contract is paid off.
Can I keep my home SIM active at the same time?
If your phone has a dual-SIM slot, yes — both SIMs run simultaneously. If you have only one physical slot, you'd need to swap. Consider an eSIM plan if you want both numbers active at once.
Does the SIM work outside Bali?
Yes. It's a full Telkomsel SIM — it works anywhere in Indonesia with Telkomsel coverage, including Lombok, Java, and other islands.
What if my SIM doesn't connect after delivery?
Contact us immediately by email at hello@getbalisim.com or WhatsApp. We'll diagnose — common causes are the SIM not seated properly, phone still in airplane mode, or a brief network propagation delay. We don't consider the job done until you're actually online.
